Tulaa is a Nairobi-based, mobile commerce start-up that links smallholder farmers to digital financial services, inputs and buyers. In July 2017, Axel successfully led the spin-off of the business from Esoko, and has since been managing its finance, talent and operations departments.
Prior to joining Tulaa and Esoko, Axel worked in the finance industry in London, first as a Senior Associate in PwC’s audit department and subsequently as an Associate in Morgan Stanley’s investment banking department, with a focus on financial institutions in both roles. He left London in 2015 to help Kiva, a crowd-lending platform for microloans, establish their U.S. based lending operations in San Francisco.
Axel graduated summa cum laude from Warwick Business School with a BSc Accounting & Finance and is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales, as well as the CFA Institute.
